How Schemafy handles data and licensing

This page explains what information may be processed when you use Schemafy, buy a Pro license, or interact with Freemius-powered billing and telemetry flows connected to the plugin.

Last updated: March 6, 2026

Opt-in first

Free-plugin telemetry is optional

For the free version, Freemius usage tracking starts only after a WordPress admin explicitly approves the opt-in screen.

Billing

Freemius handles licensing and checkout

Paid licenses, renewals, invoices, subscriptions, and license validation are processed through Freemius.

Control

You can opt out later

You can skip the opt-in, opt out from the installed plugins screen, or manage billing data through your Freemius account and support channels.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy describes how Schemafy handles information related to plugin licensing, support, updates, and product telemetry.

Schemafy uses Freemius for licensing, checkout, billing, subscriptions, invoices, and parts of the telemetry flow. Because of that, this policy complements, but does not replace, the official Freemius Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

2. Information that may be collected

Depending on how you use Schemafy, Schemafy and Freemius may process account, site, technical, and transaction information.

  • The first name, last name, and email address of the WordPress admin user who explicitly accepts the Freemius opt-in flow.
  • Your website URL, license identifiers, product status, and site-related identifiers needed for updates and license validation.
  • Technical details such as the Schemafy version, WordPress version, PHP version, and site language.
  • Installed plugins and themes, but only when that information is part of the opt-in flow disclosed by Freemius.
  • Purchase, billing, tax, invoice, subscription, and payment-related records for Pro licenses bought through Freemius.
Based on Freemius documentation, this SDK flow concerns the website and the opted-in WordPress admin user, not the personal data of your site visitors.

3. How the information is used

  • To activate, validate, and renew plugin licenses.
  • To deliver plugin updates and control access to Pro features.
  • To process purchases, invoices, taxes, refunds, and subscription events.
  • To diagnose compatibility issues, support requests, and product errors.
  • To understand usage patterns and prioritize product improvements.
  • To send transactional notices about billing, licenses, renewals, account activity, or important product and security updates.
  • To prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized use, and to comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing and processors

We share only the information needed to provide licensing, billing, support, and product operations.

  • Freemius and its subprocessors for checkout, subscriptions, invoicing, taxes, customer management, licensing, and analytics related to the plugin lifecycle.
  • Hosting, email, infrastructure, and security providers used to operate Schemafy or Freemius services.
  • Public authorities or legal advisors when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.
Schemafy does not sell personal data.

5. Retention and international transfers

License, billing, support, and compliance records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, honor renewals and refunds, resolve disputes, and comply with accounting or legal obligations.

Freemius and related providers may process data in the United States or in other countries where they or their infrastructure partners operate.

6. Your choices and rights

  • You can decline the Freemius opt-in when installing or activating the free plugin.
  • You can opt out later from WordPress under Plugins > Installed Plugins > Opt Out.
  • You can deactivate or uninstall Schemafy if you no longer want the plugin to run on your site.
  • You can manage billing, subscriptions, and some account data from your Freemius customer account.
  • You can request access, correction, or deletion related to your data through Schemafy support or the relevant Freemius privacy channels.

7. Policy updates

We may update this page when the product, the billing flow, or the underlying Freemius practices materially change. The latest version published on this website is the one that applies.
