FAQ Dropdowns in Google
Make your frequently asked questions expand directly in Google results — without touching a line of code.
Get your FAQ questions to expand in Google
Have you ever searched something on Google and seen expandable questions appear right there — before you even click any link? Those are called FAQ rich results, and you can get them for your site.
Here's what they look like: instead of just a title and description, Google shows your page with a "+" button. Click it and the answers expand. More space, more visibility, more clicks.
This works for any page that has a list of questions and answers — services pages, product pages, support pages, landing pages.
Before you start
Make sure the page you want to use has actual questions and answers written on it. Google needs to verify that your schema matches the real content on the page.
Step by step
Step 1: Open Smart Builder
Go to Schemafy → Smart Builder in your WordPress menu.
Step 2: Select FAQPage
You'll see a list of schema types organized by category. Look for the "Content" category → click FAQPage.
Step 3: Add your questions
You'll see a form with an "Add Question" button. For each question on your page:
- Click Add Question
- In the Question field: type the question exactly as it appears on your page (e.g. "How much does your service cost?")
- In the Answer field: type the full answer (e.g. "Our plans start at $29/month and include...")
- Repeat for each question — you can add as many as you want, but Google typically shows 3–4 in search results
Step 4: Assign it to your page
At the bottom of the form, find the "Assign to URL" field. Search for the page that has the FAQ on it (type a few words from the URL or page title).
Step 5: Save
Click Save. The schema is immediately active on that page.
How long until you see it in Google?
Google needs to crawl your page and decide to show the rich result. This usually takes 3 to 14 days. You can speed it up:
- Go to Google Search Console (search.google.com/search-console — free tool)
- Paste your page URL in the top search bar → click "Request Indexing"
- Google will prioritize crawling that page
Check that everything is correct
After saving, go to Rich Snippets Manager → find your page → click Validate. Green means good. If there are errors, the most common ones are:
- "Question too short" — add more detail to the question text
- "Answer missing" — make sure every question has a corresponding answer
- "URL not found" — make sure the page is published and accessible
What you'll get
Once Google picks it up, your search result will look like this:
> Your Page Title — yoursite.com
> Your meta description...
> ▼ How much does it cost?
> ▼ How long does delivery take?
> ▼ Do you offer refunds?
That's more screen space, more trust, and typically more clicks than a regular result.
