Why each tag matters

<title> — The clickable headline in Google results. The single most important on-page SEO element after content itself. A well-written title with the target keyword can significantly improve CTR.

meta description — The descriptive text below the title. Google does not use it as a direct ranking factor, but it directly affects CTR. A description that explains the page's benefit and includes a call to action generates more clicks.

canonical — Prevents duplicate content issues. If a product appears at three different URLs (with filters, with tracking parameters), the canonical tells Google which one is the "real" URL.

robots — Controls indexation (index/noindex) and link-following (follow/nofollow). Useful for admin pages, thank-you pages, internal search results.
